Sunrise Period

PNINA extended the sunrise period to

 June 30th, 2005

With the increased popularity of the .PS ccTLD we are experiencing an increased amount of cyber squatting. Companies that wish to protect their brand integrity should register their corporate, registered and trademark names with .PS as soon as possible to ensure that their brand names are protected.

Cyber squatters , domain hunters and competitor companies are eager to claim your valuable internet assets. So be careful and avoid such unpleasant surprises Also by registering your domain name early, you will avoid the domain name arbitration and dispute resolution process that are  long and tedious and sometimes costly processes. Companies must either arbitrate the transfer themselves or hire a domain manager to broker the transfer. Both ways are time consuming and costly.

By registering your name under the .PS ccTLD today, entities can avoid this hassle and protect their brand integrity in a globally open market. We encourage all companies to protect their digital identity and make their presence known in Palestine, Middle East and internationally.

So give your brand name international visibility by registering your domain(s) under the .PS ccTLD.

  • What is the Sunrise period?
The Sunrise period is a 45-day advance registration period where eligible registered trademark and service mark holders may apply for corresponding .info domain names.

Who is eligible to register a domain during the Sunrise period?
Owners of any current national or international trademarks or service marks are eligible to register their corresponding domain names during the Sunrise period. The domain name must be identical to the textual elements of the trademark or service mark.

When does the Sunrise period start?
We are accepting Sunrise domain name submissions through certified registrars right now until
    June 30th, 2005.

Do I have to provide additional information for a Sunrise domain name?
No, but in addition to the regular contact and name server information required for normal domain name registrations, PNINA reserves the right to request the following trademark/service mark information:

    1. The ASCII characters composing the trademark or service mark.
    2. The date the trademark or service mark was issued.
    3. The country where the trademark was registered.
    4. The trademark or service mark number.

In the event that separate applicants submit registration requests for an identical domain, the first request that meets the criteria for a Sunrise registration will be awarded the domain name.

What is the registration term for domains registered during the Sunrise period?
A .ps Sunrise domain can be registered for one year, 3 years and up to a maximum of 10 years. We strongly encourage registrants to register their domain names for at least three years to protect their valuable intellectual properties.

What are the fees for domains registered during the Sunrise period?
The pre-registration fee for a .ps Sunrise domain name is the same registration fees for any "ordinary" domain name under the .ps or its Second Level Domains. Special discounts will be given for multiple years registration. Certified Registrars may offer additional discounts for bulk or multiple registrations based on the quantity you are registering.

Do I have to submit multiple pre-registrations for my Sunrise domain name?
No, one submission with correct information through a Certified Registrar will be enough.

When can I start using a domain registered during the Sunrise period?
Domains registered during the Sunrise period will be activated within 24-48 hours where the websites they point to may then go live promptly

What is the dispute resolution process for domains registered during the Sunrise period?
If another party registers a domain name matching your trademark or service mark during the Sunrise period, you can assert a challenge against the registrant during the Sunrise Challenge period, which begins at the conclusion of the Sunrise period and continues for 120 days.

Dispute resolution services during this period will be provided exclusively by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Domains registered after this period will use ICANN's Uniform Dispute Resolution Process (UDRP) or the regular Palestinian court system.
